About me

LimuProHello everyone!

Thank you first and foremost for taking the time to stop by and giving me a look, I am honored you are taking a few moments to explore my work.

Michael is a Modern Portrait Photographer primarily focusing on photographing women of all ages to remind them how beautiful they are inside and out. This all began from a push (literally) from someone special to him at a wedding years ago.

Michael started his journey in wedding photography and trained under a far more seasoned photographer than he at the time for a few years.  He has since mentored under the great Sue Bryce http://www.suebryce.com and Nino Batista http://www.ninobatista.com to strengthen his craft and become better than he was yesterday. These two are two highly regarded Portrait Photographers I admire and who inspire me to grow in my craft. Primarily now Michael focuses on portraiture, whether it be sisters, daughters, mothers, or a transgenerational combination, couples, or families.

Being originally from Houston, Texas and have migrated to the Capitol of Texas, Austin, I am a native Texan. Here I have planted my roots and have met many wonderful people. Every person I meet in my life has their own journey and to intentionally connect with a person in the flesh overwrites anything Social Media can do. I enjoy getting to know my clients and models over just picking up a camera and clicking a button. Portraiture is far more about connection and using experience and skill to display the best image possible of my subjects. We as humans were set upon this land to be together and not live solitary.

I strive to create the best experience possible and truly am passionate about those I work with…

Lastly from consultation to your final retouched image my expectations are to make you feel connected with the image, seeing a reflection of a beautiful you.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to our experience together,

Michael Canales
